How Long Does It Take To Drive There?

Both of the primary rivers we fish are located approximately 90 minutes drive from the Anchorage International Airport. They are about 45 minutes drive from Wasilla. These drive times are estimates based on straight drive time. If you plan to stop anywhere for coffee, breakfast, or to buy a license give yourself more time. If in doubt please allow more time so you will not be late.

Do You Sell Fishing Licenses?

No we do not sell fishing licenses and they are NOT available at the boat launch. Each person planning to fish must purchase and possess a current Alaska fishing license before boarding the boat.

What Time are Our Charters?

We operate both morning and afternoon salmon fishing charters.

  • Morning Charters – Meeting time for mornings are generally 5 AM unless stated otherwise and we return to the dock at 11:00 AM or when limits are retained whichever is first.
  • Afternoon Charters – The meet time for afternoon trips is 11:00 AM and were back to the dock by 5 PM or when limits are retained whichever is first.

What if I’m Going to be Late?

If you realize that you are going to be late, please notify us as soon as possible by calling 907-357-0131. We try to wait 15 minutes past the departure time, but since it is unfair to other guest, if we have not heard from you we will leave without you. No refund will be given for no shows.

Are Morning to Afternoon Charters Better?

The morning trips are generally more productive, however we do catch good numbers of fish in the afternoons as well. We would consider mid-week mornings to be the best times to fish because the morning bite is usually better and there are often less people on the river on those days.

How Many People Are On A Charter?

Our boat can accommodate up to 6 people however for mixed groups we limit the group size to 4-5 people. We do allow groups of 6 on the boat if they are all one group together. For larger groups of we can arrange multiple boats and guides.

What is the “Buy The Boat” Option?

Normally we book 4-5 people on a charter, however if you “Buy the Boat” and book the minimum 4 seats, then your party will have exclusive use of the boat and we will not add any additional people to your group. You can still add up to 2 more people at the regular price. Even if you don’t have 4 people in your party you can still book 4 seats and have exclusive use of the boat. When booking choose the “Buy The Boat” exclusive charter option.

“Buy The Boat” – 6 Hour Trip = $600  (1-4 people, add up to 2 more for $150pp)

“But The Boat” – 8 Hour Trip = $800 (1-4 people, add up to 2 more for $200pp)

To book this option call 907-357-0131

Are Children Allowed on Charters?

Yes we love to have kids on the boat. If they fish they are charged a normal rate. If they ride along without fishing (Space permitting) they will not be charged. We rely on parents to know their own children and make a wise choice as to whether they can handle fishing for a 6 hour or 8 hour trip.

King salmon fishing is more challenging and requires more patience. We may fish long periods of time between bites. Also, with kings, it takes a bit more skill to do and strength to bring fish in so some kids require parental or guide assistance. In the case that your child requires more assistance we may ask a parent to assist as the guide will also be tending to the needs of all the other guests as well as running the boat.

Silver salmon fishing is especially great for kids. Often times we are bobber fishing with bait which is visual and fun for youngsters. There is usually much more action and less time between bites which helps keep them engaged and interested. All in all, we take lots of kids fishing every summer and  it works great when parents and the guide can work together to give them a great experience.
